Sales Engineering Intern

TKS Industrial Company is a world class designer and builder of Paint Finishing Systems and Air Systems for the automotive and related industries. 

This position offers the opportunity to develop skills in paint finishing process calculations, manufacturing system layouts, schematic development, presentation, and/or product development. This position will utilize and expand upon a variety of Engineering & Marketing disciplines including process layouts, HVAC, utilities, 3D CAD, conveyor, automation, scheduling, product development, content creation, product presentation. 

In this role, you will take ownership of the development of an individual project (such as one from the list below) for the duration of your internship, while supporting the Sales & Proposals team in process engineering and offering new perspective and solutions to customer problems and projects. You will be supported by the TKS Sales & Engineering Teams for specific technical knowledge, training, and support. 

Possible project topics include: 

• Standardization of new products for local market o Example: Work with TKS Manufacturing & Engineering Teams to develop standardized drawings and spec standard equipment to apply technology developed in Japan for US Market 

• Enhancements to TKS Estimations System 

• Etc. Minimum Requirements: 

• Working towards Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering 

• General demonstration of technical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles to apply to industry-specific applications (air schematics, structural calculations, piping & duct sizing, etc.) 

• Ability to clearly communicate & present with professionalism and respect 

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) competency o Microsoft Visio a plus 

• 2D/3D CAD Employment conditions 

• This position is based in our corporate office located at 901 Tower Drive, Suite 300, Troy MI 48098 

• Core office hours are 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday 

• This position may involve accompanying the Sales & Estimation team members on domestic travel for the purpose of touring project sites, and meeting with team members, vendors, and/or clients. 

• This is a paid non-exempt position. (Hourly wage, paid weekly) 

• This position is eligible for health & welfare benefits, in accordance with the terms of each plan. 

• This is a temporary position, subject to the individual’s work authorization status and availability due to school schedule, as well as job performance.
